GET INVOLVED

Are you a grassroots organization, NGO or professional partner in the development field who would like to get involved with the Huairou Commission?

We have membership and partnership opportunities through our Member Networks, areas of work and global events. Please send us an email to let us know how you would like to get involved.

Internship Opportunities

Internships with the Huairou Commission offer the opportunity to directly support community-driven women’s empowerment in poor communities, both rural and urban, around the world. Interns work in a nontraditional office environment led by women committed to social change. Candidates must be available 16-20 hours per week, working out of our Secretariat in Brooklyn, New York City. The Huairou Commission is a global movement of grassroots women’s groups, community-based organizations and NGOs organizing to change power dynamics in their own communities and influence global policymaking. Women leaders of the Huairou Commission are on the front lines of activism around prominent development issues including land and housing rights, natural disasters, resilience building, food security, climate change, HIV/AIDS, safe public spaces, sustainable urbanization, transparent and accountable governance, economic empowerment and gender equality. The Huairou Commission holds consultative status with the United Nations and actively participates in UN conferences and deliberations. Our internships provide access to UN and other global events and processes.
