Economic Justice & Rights (EJR) Action Coalition

The Action Coalitions have engaged governments, women’s, feminist and youth-led organizations, international organizations, foundations and the private sector to: catalyze collective action; spark global and local conversations among generations; drive increased public and private investment; and deliver concrete, game-changing results across generations for girls and women.

Six specific themes are being addressed by the Action Coalitions with Economic Justice and Rights, co-led by the Huairou Commission, being one of them.   By propelling high impact and powerful commitments and investments for gender equality, the GEF aims to create a changed equality landscape at a time when COVID-19 risks derailing the advances of past decades. The GEF in Paris will be held virtually and the three-day program will present the final Global Acceleration Plan for Gender Equality, including the six Action Coalition Blueprints, as well as drive all stakeholders towards securing and implementing commitments. The announcement of commitments, whether by Leaders of the AC´s or Commitment Makers, is the main focus of the AC sessions in Paris. The Generation Equality Forum in Paris will be attended by Heads of State and Government, as well as high-level representatives from every sector in society and with civil society and youth at its center.

Violet Shivutse, Huairou Commission’s Chair of the Governing Council and Director of Shibuye Community Health Workers, Kenya, will present blueprint commitments to achieving economic justice and rights.
