The Huirou Commission has been building a critical mass of grassroots women leaders and advocates for community-led, gender-gust climate finance for more than 20 years. Through a new collaboration with the Climate Justice Resilience Fund, the Huairou Commission is advancing three core objectives:
Increasing formal recognition of the leadership and expertise of grassroots women in planning responses to climate change;
Facilitating financial investments in grassroots’ women-led, vulnerability reducing climate resilience initiatives; and
Enhancing collaborations and partnerships that strengthen grassroots movement building efforts to drive the demand for climate justice (local to global).
Program activities include peer learning and good practice exchanges across countries. The HC Global Secretariat identifies and facilitates knowledge sharing, partnership activities and policy change at the regional and global levels to enhance the impact of collaboration.
