GGC2 Event “What’s Sendai got to do with LLA?”

This session, organised by the Huairou Commission and Slum Dwellers International (SDI), will demonstrate how grassroots women’s groups’ locally focused initiatives contribute to both the implementation of the Sendai framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Locally Led Adaptation. The session will draw on examples shared by grassroots panelists and participating audiences to demonstrate the local implementation of the Four Priorities for Action of the Sendai Framework and Locally Led Adaptation. We will also analyze the achievements and challenges faced by grassroots organizations in sustaining, deepening and expanding their resilience work. Institutional partners who have extensive thematic knowledge and experience on climate change and DRR policies and programs, will share their analysis and comments, and explore how government and private institutions can expand this work.
